Deliveries
2007: 13 x MiG-29 (9-13) and 2 x MiG-29 (9-51) from Ukraine
In total 7 MiGs in 2007*
Aircraft (local name MiQ-29) were from Ukraine's depots - overhauled, slightly modernized and repainted in Lviv State Air Repair Plant in 2006 and 2007. Camouflage similar to Turkmenistani MiGs, also overhauled in Lviv.
January 2008 MiG-29UB #20 crashed in the Caspian Sea 60 kilometres off shore. Pilots died in the accident.
In 2010 one new MiG-29UB #33 from Ukraine to replace lost UB.
In 2015 and 2016 exercises Turaz Şahini (Turaz Falcon) with Turkish Air Force.
Since 2017 overhauls in Lviv, camouflage (aircraft #03) the same as used since 2007. Also MiG-29UB #33 overhauled.
In September 2017 joint Azerbaijani-Turkish exercises TurAz Qartalı-2017.

air base in Zeynalabdin Tagiyev küçəsi* (former Nasosnaya) near Bakı (Baku), few km on west from Sumgayit.
* Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev (1821/23/28 - 1924) was an Azeri industrial oil magnate and philanthropist.
